Urban Vision is now a proud Green Spot member in Columbus, OH.  Beginning in August, 2008, Mayor Coleman launched a green initiative in Columbus for business to back their green claims.  Urban Vision has committed to relatively high standards of environmentally-conscious life/work style and we hope you will, too.

 In addition to biking to work and having access to a company hybrid car, our Green Spot contract includes the following:

  • We will buy office and other supplies made with recycled materials.

  • We will establish a business-wide recycling program that includes-at a minimum-glass, aluminum, plastic bottles, steel, and paper.

  • We will perform a waste audit of our business.

  • We will track our monthly waste.

  • We will expand our recycling program to include additional materials, such as plastic film, refrigerants, re-use of water, hangers, etc. Additional materials we will include in our recycling program are…

  • We will recycle toner and inkjet printer cartridges.

  • We will reduce our paper use by:Not making unnecessary copies, and double-siding the copies we do make.Not using a separate cover sheet for faxes.Reusing paper for scrap paper.Removing our name from junk mail lists.Keeping our customer mailing lists current, without duplications.

  • We will perform an energy audit, or use EnergyStar’s Portfolio to track our energy use.

The Walhalla Development Group hired Timothy Welsh Architects, LLC 

to design a 4 story, 20 unit condominium project in the heart of the neighborhood. 

Urban Vision is one the Owners’ and developers, as well as the lead designer and architect. The design aims to capture the rich history and character of the surrounding context while keeping our modernist philosophy.

8 units sold pre-construction, and ground broke mid-July.     Walhalla Development Group is proud to sponsor the Clintonville Homes Tour this fall.

Kossuth Green

Urban Vision is designing a new two-family LEED Platinum residence in Schumacher Place, Columbus, OH.  

Located on a large corner lot at Kossuth Street and S. Washington Ave, Kossuth Green implements sustainable design with urban living. 

Consideration to property assessment, building orientation, and density factor into the sustainable design, which is our focus in the future of the built environment.  Using the minimal building footprint for residential dwelling, and maintaining green space with alley-accessible parking and rooftop terrace, Kossuth Green hopes to earn the highest LEED score for homes and continue this standard in upcoming projects.

Say Avenue Commons

are completely renovated condominiums in the Short North area of Columbus, OH. 

 Phase II begins on Say Avenue Commons this week as complete interior demolition begins. Phase I construction finished spring ’08 on four units, all of which are occupied.  The photo shown here is representative of the standard finishing package including hardwood floors, granite counters and stainless appliances. (Renovations by Legacy Custom Homes) Construction scheduled to be finished September 08, 2 units are still available. 

 East Village is a 3 story, 72 unit mixed use developement coming soon to the OSU university area. The idea is to have students living, working, studying and playing within a pedestrian-friendly urban environment with access to campus and local retail.  Construction scheduled to start Fall 08.

The Summit

The Summit Street building is a 70-bed student housing development located near The Ohio State University.
